Overdraft Services***

Sometimes accounting errors happen and there are times when you may not have enough money in your account to cover your transactions. We don't think you need to take a big hit for what might be a small error. Here are the options available to you at Georgia's Own.

Access as Soon as Your Account is Open
Transfer from one of your other accounts: With this option, we simply transfer the overage amount from one of your other Georgia's Own accounts. You get peace of mind that your transaction is covered and a much smaller fee than what a returned check would cost.

Access After Qualifying Account Activity
Overdraft Protection for Checks, ACH transactions and recurring debits: This service covers transactions that come in via check or automated payments you have set up so they are not returned or declined. This can save you charges from the companies you pay and the long process of resubmitting payments.

Overdraft Protection for One-Time Debit and ATM transactions: This service covers your ATM and Debit Card Transactions in the event there are insufficient funds in your checking and other accounts to cover your transaction. To avoid your transactions being declined on these transactions, you must opt-in.

Other Great Options Available
Overdraft Line of Credit: This option provides a line of credit that can cover you when there isn't enough money in any of your accounts to cover the transaction. You only pay interest when you use the line of credit.

Balance Notifications: This proactive measure lets you set up personalized notifications when your checking account balance dips below an amount you choose. At that point you know not to submit further transactions or gives you the opportunity to make a deposit to bring up your balance.

*** Overdraft Services is available to members 18 and over who are in good standing with the Credit Union. We may approve certain transactions that overdraw your account. An overdraft fee of thirty three ($33.00) dollars may be charged for each transaction that overdraws your account.  The categories or types of transactions that may overdraw your account include payments, purchases and transfers.   Whether your overdrafts will be paid or not is in our sole discretion and we reserve the right not to pay the overdraft. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing or if you have too many overdrafts. We reserve the right to require you to repay your overdrafts immediately or on demand. Read full Overdraft Services Disclosure here.
