To be eligible for assistance from Georgia’s Own Credit Union, charitable organizations must:

  • Serve a geographic area in which Georgia’s Own Credit Union is located
  • Be a registered 501(c) organization
  • Meet one of our core values (fostering education, cultivating a healthy planet, and improving the health, welfare, and/or financial well being of members of our community)

The following are ineligible to receive contributions from Georgia’s Own Credit Union:

  • Individuals or sponsorships of individuals in fundraising projects
  • Organizations that discriminate by race, color, creed, gender, national origin, or sexual orientation
  • Labor or fraternal organizations
  • Religious organizations
  • Political organizations
  • Requests that are sensitive, controversial, or harmful or that pose a potential conflict of interest to the Credit Union 

Requests for Contributions

While we would like to support every organization, our resources are limited, and we cannot accommodate all requests we receive. Therefore we must carefully review all appeals and grant support only to those organizations that best meet our community involvement objectives. All proposals must be submitted on the organization’s letterhead and must include:

  • Information about the project/organization and how the proceeds will be used
  • Specific amount requested
  • List of other major sponsors
  • Proof of tax-exempt status
